The New US Army ECWCS Generation III (GEN III) is a system consisting of 7 types of tops and 5 types of bottoms, designed to adapt to various climates and situations.
This Level 7 serves as the final layer for cold weather protection, with PrimaLoft insulation. PrimaLoft is a high-tech polyester material said to be about 8 times warmer than down.
The main advantage is that, unlike down wear, there are no feathers to escape, and it requires little maintenance. It is machine washable, lightweight, and has a soft texture.
If the waterproof and breathable properties are reduced due to dirt, the function will be restored by washing.
